Focus: The Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding

Text: Isa.11:2.

"And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding..."

The Spirit comes into your life with all that he is, not less. He is the Spirit of infinite wisdom and understanding. He knows and sees all things. He is everywhere present and is all-powerful.

His presence in your life dispels darkness. He floods your inner being with light and shows you the right path of life.

He fills your life with wisdom and understanding.

Firstly, wisdom is the ability to see and live life from God's vantage point. It is seeing and doing things that are pleasing to God.

Wisdom acknowledges and takes God into consideration in all it says and does. Wisdom means living by God's dictates.

It is not wisdom to oppose, ignore or relegate God.

Lastly, understanding is insight. By understanding you are able to see through appearances and operations. By understanding you are able to see and sort things out that are wrongly lumped together, for things are not always as they seem on the surface.

The Spirit of God in you helps you live wisely and insightfully. The Spirit in you presents and projects Christ as God's wisdom personified.

I close with another's quip: "Wisdom is the quality that keeps you from getting into situations where you need it." Amen.
