Focus: The Cruciality of the Spirit

Text: Isa.11:2:

"And the SPIRIT of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING, the spirit of COUNSEL and MIGHT, the spirit of KNOWLEDGE and of the FEAR of the LORD."

As Nehemiah recounted the history of Israel as they journeyed through the desert, he said to God, "Thou gavest also thy GOOD SPIRIT to INSTRUCT them..." - Neh.9:20.

The Spirit of God is crucial in the life of a child of God - so central and vital.

From start to finish, Jesus lived and functioned by the Spirit. All that he did while on earth was by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, and for a Christian, life on earth without the Holy Spirit is extremely hard and quite unthinkable.

The Holy Spirit is good, so good. Indeed I am a witness to the goodness of God's Spirit in a believer's life. By his very presence in our lives we experience in reality divine wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and fear.

I pray we open up to and welcome the Holy Spirit into our us to reside and preside! I plead with you to befriend the Holy Spirit. It is a great and lovely experience. Amen.
