Focus: What God Hasn't Said

Text: Isa.45:19

"I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain."

God has said a whole lot to us. From Genesis to Revelation He is constantly saying things to us. He has given us thousands of precious promises. His words include declarations, directions and instructions. But of all that God has said, there are also things that He has not said. God has unsaid things or things that He hasn't said to us.

In all that God has said to us, He has not said, 'You shall serve me in vain.' No, no, no! He hasn't said that. Even Satan admitted that God paid Job so well. In Hebrews, we read that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. God is not unjust in His dealings with us. Jesus Christ tells us a parable in which a great farmer paid those who labored only for one hour the same amount he agreed or contracted with those who worked for the whole day. He rewarded them magnanimously. 

God is not just and faithful; He is a generous rewarder of our labors. Your service to God can never be in vain. You cannot serve God for nothing.

The Scripture says, "And the LORD said NOT that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash" (2Kgs.14:27). Yes, God will not obliterate your name in this world. He will bless you not only with prosperity, but also with posterity. The legacy of your name will live on forever. God won't let your lineage be wiped off the earth. He never said so, and He will not do it.

The Lord Jesus Christ says to Martha, "Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?" (Jh.11:40). Yes, God said it - 'Believe, and you will see my glory.' God's glory will manifest through you and your situation. That trouble will not end your life. That pain will not take praise from your mouth. Joy is coming in the morning. The Sun of righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. God's blessing will bring sorrow-less riches into your life. 

Embrace God's word by faith, stand on it, and act accordingly. God won't let you serve Him in vain. Bank on what God has said and on what He hasn't said. He's faithful and powerful.
