Text: Gen.21:6

"And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me."

In ancient philosophy, God is referred to as the First Cause. He is the Ground of beingness and the Basis of everything that is in existence. As you well know, there is a cause behind every effect. In the world of space and time, nothing just happens. Nothing happens by chance. Nothing happens by accident. God is the Grand Cause of all things, the Intelligence behind creation, and the Designer of all designs in nature.

We see instances in the Scripture where God was busy making things happen for His people. Our text is Sarah's testimony after the birth of her son, Isaac. God promises her a son, and tells her to call his name, Isaac, which means, 'Laughter.' We read in Genesis 21:1 that "the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken." When finally Isaac arrives, Sarah says, "God has MADE me to laugh…" God is the maker of our laughter and the producer of our Isaac.

God will give your own Isaac. He will give you what will make you laugh throughout your entire life. The gift of God causes us to laugh. God is the cause of laughter in our lives.

We read concerning Isaac, "And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath MADE ROOM for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land" (Gen.26:22). God makes us to laugh and He makes us fruitful. He makes room for us and expands our horizons. At the end of the day, God enables us to laugh at last and causes us to win the battle against our enemies. God will bring you into your Rehoboth where your enemies will watch you celebrate your victory.

God will make you laugh at last and make room for you to be fruitful and increase in goods.

You can count on God for your Isaac. You can count on God for your Rehoboth. Your Isaac is coming. You will not laugh for a while, but for the rest of your life. Till your death, Isaac will be your reality. God's reality will take over your reality. From the battlefield you will arrive at your fruitful field - your Rehoboth. God will be the reason for your rejoicing and the producer of your joy.

God will make happen what you can't make happen on your own. You can only work out your salvation because God is working in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. God is the reason you succeed, the reason you make progress, and the reason for your Isaac.

He is the first or primary cause of all causes, and because He is causing things behind the scenes, you will experience the effects of all He's causing or doing. What God is doing will be marvelous in your eyes. It's just a matter of time, and that time is now.
