Focus: The Doing Part of Faith

Text: Jh.2:5.
"His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it."

We live in a time when we hear a lot, say a lot, and know a lot, but sadly do a lot less. We confess faith but act in unbelief. We say a lot but without action. James calls it, faith without works.

Jesus asked the people, "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" (Lk.6:46).

In John 13:17, he says to his disciples, "If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them." Happiness results only when we do what we know.

Leah and Rachel said to Jacob, "Whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do" - Gen.31:16.

You will surely find peace and joy in doing what God is telling you to do.

Jesus tells ten lepers of what to do, and as they were going to do just that, they were miraculously healed - Lk.17:14.

From our text, as the servants of Jesus did what he told them to do, a miracle occurred. Water miraculously turned to wine.

Beloved, the miracle we seek is in the doing part of our faith, not elsewhere.
