Focus: Relevance of God
Text: Hos.14:8.
"From me is thy fruit found."
God tells Ephraim, 'What's the point having and accumulating idols when indeed I am the reason for all your visible success?' Whatever we are today God made us, and whatever we have or own God made it possible. Our idols of vanity have no part or contribution in what we are achieving or becoming.
God is relevant in our lives as creator, redeemer, provider, sustainer, protector, life-giver, and preserver.
We plumb no depth and reach no height, and indeed nothing is worth achieving without divine support. I think it was Voltaire Who said, "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him."
Jesus says, "For without me you can do nothing" - Jh.15:5.
John says, "A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven" - Jh.3:27.
No man is anything in this life without God and there's nothing any man can accomplish solely on his own without the help of God. Truly success is given before it is achieved.
Be humble and grateful for your positions and possessions. Take God out of the equation and all our efforts and effects will completely collapse. For in him we live, move and have our being.
Indeed our fruit is only found in God. Amen.
