Focus: Priority of Time (Pt.2)

Text: Mt.25:10

"And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut."

Doing the right thing at the wrong time is a waste of time and energy. Five of ten virgins were termed "foolish" for waiting until it was too late to do the needful.

The author of Hebrews says, "For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat" (Heb.5:12). This is growing old without growing up. A supposedly spiritual adult who is still on feeding bottles and diapers. Spending a lifetime just marking time instead of making it in time.

Let us understand that time waits for no one. God understands that we need timely help. We read, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in TIME of need" (Heb.4:16). Help means nothing if it does not come in the nick of time. It is called 'needless help.' What's it by your clock - your time?

We must prioritize time in all we do. I implore you to take timely action. If you are going to help someone, do it on time. Stop procrastinating. Stop dilly-dallying. Invest time; don't just spend or waste it.

See what to do with your T.I.M.E:

*Take timely action promptly

…act promptly and proactively. Don't be lazy or hesitant. Know the things that truly matter, and attend to them. Face life's essentials with a sense of urgency.

*Invest time well

…don't just spend or squander it. Investments are meant to yield dividends. How we use our time shows our wisdom or foolishness.

*Make history

…don't mark time; make a mark in time. Make time count for good. Be mindful of time. Be useful to yourself and others.

*Envision eternity and employ time

…those who see eternity make great use of time. The future you see is the future you prepare for. Time is only as important as your vision.

Be aware that time is fundamentally essential to life on earth. Those who do not value time lack a true sense of value. Prioritize time and use it wisely. Most importantly, give God your time.
