Focus: No Alternative To Success! (Pt.6)

Text: Jh.19:30

"It is finished."

Creation is God's accomplishment. Redemption is God's finished business. God succeeds in everything He does. He uses failure as a raw material to fabricate and facilitate success. Where there is nothing, He creates something. He lays His hands on something and transforms it into something else.

He turns ashes into a thing of beauty. He takes junk and makes a jewel out of it, and remakes trash into treasure. Whatever God touches, He transforms. God is the God of success and excellence. He possesses infinite wisdom and almighty power. Mind and matter function harmoniously in Him, and as another has aptly said, "Matter without mind falls by its own weight."

Today we focus on the fifth letter of succEss.

*Enterprising spirit

If you must succeed in anything you must possess the spirit of enterprise and the faith of an entrepreneur. Jesus Christ said to His parents, "Wist ye not that I MUST be about my Father's business?" (Lk.2:49). The Father's business was his utter priority and primary focus. He says again, "I MUST work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work" (Jh.9:4). He also said, "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work" (Jh.5:17).

Christ was absolutely enterprising and extremely resourceful. He excelled in everything He set His mind to do. He was vision-minded, inwardly motivated, and purpose-driven. As an entrepreneur, He was a trail-blazer and an achiever of eternal goals. The writer of Hebrews says about Christ, "Looking unto Jesus the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith…" (Heb.12:2). Christ was a pioneer par excellence. He pioneered and perfected our faith. He knew nothing about quitting. He was completely consecrated and committed to the perfect will of God. He pursued His heavenly vision and inner passion, and achieved eternal salvation for all men.

In the book of Ecclesiastes, we read, "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy MIGHT; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest" (Ecl.9:10). Might is given by God to be invested in a worthwhile enterprise. He who fails to venture out will ultimately vegetate. Pursue purpose and make a mark in history for successive generations to follow!

I conclude with an inspiring quote from another:

"Entrepreneurship is more than just starting a business; it's about creating something new, taking risks, and driving change. It's the process of designing, launching, and running a business venture, often in the face of uncertainty. Successful entrepreneurs are those who can identify opportunities, innovate, and adapt to changing market conditions. They are the driving force behind economic growth, creating jobs and bringing new products and services to market."

Truly, faith is required for anyone to be an entrepreneur. Faith is the foundation of success because it connects whoever must succeed in life to the God of success.
