Focus: No Alternative To Success! (Pt.3)

Text: Jh.19:30

"It is finished."

Success has no alternatives. It is either one fails or succeeds. Middle ground does not exist.

We have looked at the first letter of S-UCCESS, which stands for SOURCE, and we have seen that God is the Source of success. God always succeeds in all He does. He neither fails nor loses. Not even an iota of failure is traceable to God. Success is both given and gained. It is given by God and gained by earnest effort.

Now we proceed to the letter U, which stands for Uncommon passion. Success doesn't just happen; someone makes it happen. No success is ever achieved accidentally, incidentally or coincidentally.

Mind and energy integrate to accomplish success. Success is a product of design, not of default.

No one succeeds ordinarily or by common passion. It takes great passion to do great things. Vision dies or wanes without passion. You need compelling passion to achieve your vision. A go-getting spirit is key to achieving outstanding success in life. Paul tells the church in Corinth, "I will very gladly spend and be spent for you" (2Cor.12:15).

Paul is not only spending stuff; he is also spending himself. He is sacrificing himself, and doing so with extreme enthusiasm. He is so glad spending and being spent for the greater good of Christ's followers. The psalmist declares, "The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up" (Ps.69:9). This is the kind of passion that gets things done - the kind of passion that saturates one's whole being. This kind of passion becomes one's driving force for greater success in life. The Scripture says, "The zeal of the Lord of hosts shall DO this" (2Kgs.19:31). The psalmist says, "The zeal of the Lord of hosts will PERFORM this" (Isa.9:7).

This is passion that gets things done. Passion persuades and performs.

Paul exhorts and instructs us, and he says, "Whatsoever ye DO, DO it HEARTILY, as to the Lord, and not unto men" (Col.3:23). We are encouraged and instructed to be passionate about all our engagements or endeavors. Give yourself fully to noble purposes! Pursue your goals with ardent faith and fervent spirit! Paul tells us to be "fervent in spirit; serving the Lord" (Rom.12:11).

Passion is energy on fire or heated strength.

The preacher of Ecclesiastes says, "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to DO, DO it with thy MIGHT; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest" (Eccl.9:10). Pursue your destiny with all your might! Low level passion gets very little done, if at all it gets anything done.

What is your intense desire? What's your driving force? What are you passionate about in life? What do you have passion for? Where lie your interest and willingness? What do you love doing and doing well? Passion results in life's devotedness and eager pursuit. Beware of low or average passion! Passion aids in your pursuit of vision.

Get excited about life and be enthusiastic in your pursuit of destiny! You need uncommon passion to succeed, not moderate vibes.
