Focus: No Alternative To Success! (Pt.1)
Text: Jh.19:30
"It is finished."
Let me say right away that success has no alternative. But before we proceed, let us inquire, What's success?
The Lord Jesus Christ says concerning His earthly mission, "I have glorified thee on the earth: I have FINISHED THE WORK which thou gavest me to do" (Jh.17:4). That is success! Success is accomplishment. It is reaching a goal and fulfilling a purpose. Paul says to Timothy, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (2Tim.4:7). That is success. It is hitting goals and getting things done.
God is the God of success. He succeeds in everything He does. Indeed all of creation is the accomplishment of God.
It is written in the Holy Scripture, "Thus the heavens and the earth were FINISHED, and all the host of them" (Gen.2:1). Creation is God's work from start to finish. He got it done. He succeeded. At the end of the sixth day, Moses records that "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Gen.1:31). That's success. That's fulfillment.
At the end of Christ's redemptive work on the cross, the Lord Jesus Christ says, "It is finished." God never fails; He always succeeds. Both with creation and redemption, God was absolutely successful. What He conceived, He also achieved. What He initiated, He also completed.
You were designed by God to succeed in life. Failure is not an alternative to success, and failure is not good for health.
As a matter of fact, failure is the opposite of success. It is not in God's plan for you to be a flop, a failure or a loser in life. In everything God does, He never fails. And so should you, because God made you in His own image.
I have formed an acronym, using the letters of S.U.C.C.E.S.S, to help you understand a few things about success, and here it is:
*Source of success
*Uncommon passion
*Concrete planning
*Courage to conquer challenges
*Entrepreneurial or enterprising spirit
*Sight of success
*Sound of success
We will deal with each topic, beginning from tomorrow. But right now I charge you to desire, decide, dare, and determine to succeed in all aspects of your life. You just can't afford to fail in your God-given assignment. God put you here on planet earth to succeed. Don't fail Him, and don't fail yourself. There's no alternative to being successful in life.
