Focus: Necessity of Faith
In Luke 8:25 Jesus asked his disciples, "WHERE is your FAITH?"
In Matthew 8:26 it reads, WHY are ye FEARFUL, ye of little faith?
In Mark 4:40, it further reads, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?"
Where is your faith when faced with a storm? Why fear when you have Jesus in your life? Why? Just imagine little faith and plenty fear coexisting in a soul!
In Matthew 14:31 Jesus says to Peter, "O thou of little faith, WHEREFORE didst thou DOUBT?"
Peter's faith dropped as he saw and felt the intensity and immensity of the waves. Doubt took over and he began to sink.
Three things to note:
*By faith Peter walked on the stormy waters.
*By doubting and fearing he began to sink.
*By prayer Jesus came to his rescue.
Faith alone is the key that unlocks the door to God. It's our means of access.
Stop insulting the Lord by your fear and doubt. Faith brings you into God's world of limitless possibilities. Jesus can handle whatever storm that arises in your life. Trust Jesus. He works miracles, even today, and his power is eternally real. Amen.
