Focus: In Christ

Text: Eph.1:6

"To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted IN the beloved."

You are saved IN Christ. You are blessed IN Christ. IN Christ you are made righteous. 

'In Christ' is Paul's unique phraseology. It is part of his Christological theology. Everything about the Christian is settled in Christ. 

Every privilege and blessing of the Christian is made possible by Christ and guaranteed in Him.

Paul tells you that you are "accepted in the beloved." The word 'accepted' is charitoō in the Greek. It is used as "highly favoured" in Luke 1:28. The word is derived from 'charis,' which means 'grace.' The Christian is 'graced' in Christ. He is highly favored in Christ. He is saved and secure in Christ. He is hopeful and forward-looking in Christ. His future is made sure in Christ. His life is insured in Christ. His joy flows and overflows in Christ. He is loved by Christ. 

Christ lives in him. Indeed, Christ is his life, righteousness, wisdom, sanctification and peace. 

It is through Christ that he will be able to do and bear all things.

In Christ you have nothing to be afraid of. In Christ you are assured and insured. Let the words of Christ dwell in you richly. Christ is your security. His name is your strong tower. Everything that pertains to life and godliness is made available to you in Christ. 

In Christ all your blessings are found. Nothing you need is missing in Christ. Christ is your beloved, and in Him you are accepted. In Christ you are complete. In Christ… In Christ… In Christ - that's your sphere of reality. That's where you really belong.
