Text: Gen.28:15

"And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of."

Jacob was running away from home. His own brother was after his life. He left home, not knowing what the future held for him. Even though he left home with his father's blessing, yet he felt so much uncertainty about the future, and he had a deep-felt guilt for how he treated his brother. Then he came to a spot where the night came upon him and he had to sleep.

That night he had a dream, in which he saw God standing above a ladder, and he heard the voice of God saying to him, "I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of." This declaration of God to Jacob assures us that God will never abandon His own, come rain or sunshine

Another point to note is that Jacob was a covenant child. He had God's covenant word hovering over his head and dwelling in his heart, and God would not let any evil come upon him, but would follow His word to fulfill it. Wherever Jacob was found, and in whatever situation, he was under the covering of God's covenant word. Wherever Jacob went, God went with him to bring His covenant word to pass.

God said to him:

*I am with you

*I will keep you in all the places that you go to

*I will bring you back to this land of promise

*I will not stop being with you until I have fulfilled the promises that I made to you

The long and short of it is that God would follow His word through in the life of Jacob, and perform all that He had promised.

God has spoken a word over your life, and He will see to it that His word is fulfilled in your life, and before He gets His word fulfilled in your life, His presence will keep you from evil and keep evil from you.

The Lord will stand by you and preserve you from all evil. The presence of God will guarantee your security and prosperity. Satan will not have the last laugh over your life. God will turn your water into wine, and it will be the best wine ever.

You might be going through a whole lot right now, but be assured that God is with you. God's presence in your life will see to it that all is well with you and that the purpose of God for your life is ultimately fulfilled.
