Focus: Bring Him To Me!
Text: Mk.9:19
"Bring him unto me."
Jesus Christ came into the scene where His disciples were struggling to cast out a demon without success. He looked at the crowd and saw no faith. He looked at the father of the demonized boy and all He saw was faith mixed up with a great deal of unbelief. And then He looked at His own disciples and saw so much doubt and lack of confidence. The Lord Jesus Christ must have asked them, 'Whatever happened to the power that I gave you? I gave you authority to cast out devils and power to heal the sick. Where went the power? Why are you helpless and powerless in front of a demon?' The Lord Jesus Christ must have felt greatly disappointed in His own disciples.
Then He said to them, "Bring him unto me." He demanded for the child to be brought to Him. The father of the boy brought him to the Master. The Master took charge of the situation, expelled the demon from the boy, and restored the boy to his father, completely delivered.
The church may fail, but Jesus Christ never fails. Jesus Christ succeeds right where the church fails. I make bold to say that whether the church fails or not, Christ will always be true to Himself. He never fails. Christ always succeeds even where and when the church fails.
Don't be discouraged by the failures of the church; still take your issues to the Lord! He can handle them. You will find the answers you are looking for with Him.
Take your trouble to the Lord! Don't credit the Lord with failure just because one Christian or a number of them somewhere had failed in their spiritual mandate or social responsibility.
The author of Hebrews says, "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Heb.4:16). Bring your troubles to the throne of grace! Bring your needs and pains to the Master. Bring all your issues to our able God. He is able to deal with the demons working against you. Grace and mercy flow from the Lord Jesus Christ.
The help you need is divinely obtainable. When it comes to impossible situations, God alone can be counted upon. He alone possesses infinite power to level impossible situations. Bring that 'child' to Him. God still works miracles in today's world. Bring your helplessness, hopelessness and powerlessness to Him!
Our source of power is still available and the church can still recover her lost power. Let the church return to her source, for what is lost can be regained!
Power is recoverable through repentance and renewal. The church is placed here on earth by Christ to cast out demons from people's lives and to establish the authority of Christ in this world. We are called by God and empowered by the Spirit to function in the place of Christ in this world, and we must not fail in our mission.
What I say to one, I say to all: bring that 'child' to the Lord, and you will see the wonder of God. Amen!
