Focus: All Weather Faith

Text: Ps.62:8

"Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah."

Be the weather foul or fair, faith enables the believer in Christ to navigate through the times and seasons of life.

Our faith in Christ is an all-weather faith. We are called to live by our faith, regardless of whatever situation we face at any point in time. You can never know the quality or power of your faith until you face a tight corner situation. What overcomes the world is your faith. 

It is by faith that you are required to insistently and persistently resist the devil. It is by the shield of faith that you protect yourself against the fiery darts of the wicked.

The psalmist says to you, "Trust in HIM at all times." There's no time when God is not trustworthy. Your God has all the strength you need - all the peace, all the love, all the understanding, all the light, all the resources, all the help, all the grace, all the answers that you need, and much more. He is the God in charge of good, bad, ugly, evil, and odd times. He sits on our clocks and calendars, and He reigns over the affairs of men.

Faith works in tough or tender times. When life is sweet and when it sours, Faith applies. By faith we weather the storm and rise to the top.

Trust God at all times. Like the psalmist, say to yourself, Come rain, come sun, "I will bless the LORD AT ALL TIMES: his praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Ps.34:1). Be that person who does "righteousness AT ALL TIMES" (Ps.106:3). Like the psalmist, let your soul "break for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments AT ALL TIMES" (Ps.119:20). Be that friend who "loveth AT ALL TIMES, and a brother is born for adversity" (Prov.17:17).

Be known for your faith at all times. Fair weather faith is not enough. Develop foul weather faith. Let the light of your faith shine at all times. Let people see and touch the joy of your faith even in ugly times when life seems to go bananas. Listen, your faith can't sink you; it rather enables you to sail through or cross your way into a new horizon and to the next season of your life.
