Focus: The Road Less Traveled

Text: 1Cor.15:30.

"And why stand we in JEOPARDY EVERY HOUR?"

Today's Christianity is that of the comfort zone. We do what God wants only if it is convenient for us. We constantly choose the easy part. But it is said of Mary that she has chosen the best part, not the easy part - Lk.10:42. Jesus says of her, "She hath done what she could" - Mk.14:8. She did her best, gave her best, and served her best for Christ. She served God's purpose with her utmost ability.

Our obedience has not always been complete. We do what comes easily. We have become the Broad Way Christians instead of the Narrow Way Believers. We love comfortability. We do the will of God only if it's easy. We follow the road most traveled.

But here is what is written of God's men of the past.

"...and they LOVED NOT their lives unto the death" - Rev.12:11.

Paul says of himself, "But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God" - Act.20:24.

Of two tribes of Israel: "Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that JEOPARDED their lives unto the death in the high places of the field" - Judg.5:18.

As for Moses: "Choosing rather to SUFFER AFFLICTION with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season... Esteeming the REPROACH of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward... for he ENDURED, as seeing him who is invisible" - Heb.11:25,26,28.

Listen, nothing compares to the crown of eternity and no price is too high to pay for God's eternal rewards.

The Narrow Way is still the Way and doing the will of God calls for sacrifice and endurance. Amen.
